LG GD900 Crystal
When you talk about the LG GD900 Crystal the first thing that will come to mind is the novel design of the phone. What gadget can top the transparent design of the phone? No other phone rivals the LG Crystal in terms of this unique look. When we got hold of the phone, we are one in saying that the transparent screen is cool. This LG entry is a slider phone with the 3-inch touch screen, and this is backed by a transparent keypad which will automatically light up once this is opened. Is this just for styling and a way to get our attention? There is more to this keypad. This is touch-sensitive too, thus making its use both fun and highly functional.
One of the main selling points of the LG GD900 is the presence of the S-Class 3D user interface. This is the same interface we have seen in the LG Arena. The main draw for many, the transparent touchpad is actually made from durable tempered glass which is strong and this is encased within the frame so that it can easily withstand the shock and vibration. At first glance, we thought that the Crystal is all about the aesthetics. Thankfully, we were proven wrong. The LG GD900 is also packed with highly functional navigational functions. The Crystal touchpad will have Gesture Shortcuts that can allow you to configure your common shortcuts with the use of the finger. You will be thankful for this feature when you are multi-tasking. The Gesture Shortcut of the phone will let you launch the menu and the applications by first configuring your gestures. Try using your fingertip to write the letter C on the touchpad of your phone. And you can also customize this command so that you can use this to launch the camera. There is also the ‘Haptic’ feedback that can inform you if you have entered the right command.
And just like the previous LG Arena, the Crystal goes big time on the features. Some of the better features that caught our attention include the 8-megapixel camera, an expandable memory up to 32 GB, Wi-Fi connectivity and there is also the HSDA that allows for fast internet surfing.
All of these features are supported by the battery rated at 1000mAh. And with features like these and two touch screens, you can bet that the battery will not last that long. The LG GD900 is dressed to impress, and we are impressed. And since this is the first one that offers a see-through touch-sensitive keypad, then that’s one more reason that pushed us to look at this highly chic phone in a better light.
