Samsung S3500 Silver
The Samsung S3500 Silver is the perfect compromise between quality and price. It has a steely look to it with metallic silver casing and bears a resemblance to its high- end relative the Samsung Soul. The S3500 has all the essentials including a music player, FM radio, 2 megapixel camera, video capture facility and a microSD memory card extension.
The Samsung S3500 measures 100mm by 48 mm and feels very solid. It has a 2.2” display that lets you view up to 16 million colours. There is also the same menu look and feel of all the other Samsung models with grid based icons and scrollable numbered lists.
The slider has a safe and solid spring loaded action so you will not be worried about breaking it. Another good thing is the responsive keypad. You can type without mistakes as the numbers are divided by curved ridges.
This may not be a top of the range phone but all the basics work excellently. The music player provides modest sound quality. It has the standard Samsung music player software and the controls are operated by the D pad. There is no standard headphone socket but it comes with its own earphones. It also comes with a microSD to support up to 8GB worth of songs or pictures.
The camera performance is also modest. It lacks an autofocus system and a flash. It will never produce excellent images but can still be appreciated by some. In good light the quality is much better. The video clip quality is poor.
The Samsung S3500 runs data over GPRS or EDGE and not 3G. The browser does a good job at rendering pages. Loading time may be slow but you can still enjoy the online experience.
