A Review on Sony Ericsson W995 Red

Ericsson has already established its name in the market for producing high-end audios from the W-Series walkman phones and the best quality camera phones with the C-Series Cybershot phones. Now, a new model is unveiled with the hopes of continuing the legacy of Sony Ericsson in bringing high quality music capability and good camera. The Sony Ericsson W995 Red is not a smartphone although you will think that it is because of its GPS, Wi-Fi and 3G capability features. With the economic recession underway, will this phone survive in the market or will it be buried into oblivion? Before answering this question, find out first the strong and weak points of this new Sony Ericsson phone.

Sony Ericsson W995 Red is a slider music phone and measures 49 mm wide and 97 mm tall once closed and 125 mm when opened. It can be described as a little think at 15 mm but still proves to be very comfortable to use and not a nuisance  when put in the pocket. You can also find satisfaction at the design of its numberpad though the keys are barely raised. But no worries since the keys are still spaced properly for easy typing. The side buttons however are small and people with fat fingers will find it difficult to press such keys. An old connector port is also located at the side which is purposely used for charging and listening to your favorite music. To keep the phone in the landscape position, the kickstand will help you do the job.

The 2.6 inch colour screen also has a high screen resolution display and an auto rotate function so you can rotate the handset and view in horizontal or vertical modes. This music phone also sports a built-in Walkman music player with different music features and a built-in stereo speaker system to let you experience the best sound quality.
Its camera, believe it or not, is 8.15 megapixels autofocus and belongs to the Sony Ericsson Cybershot series. The phone’s camera has an excellent array of features like the face and smile detection, Best Pic, and geo-tagging. You can expect nothing but excellent picture quality and the color reproduction is accurate.
Sony Ericsson W995 Red supports quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 frequency bands. The 3G bands are HSDPA 900/2100 and HSDPA 850/1900 for the American version. This phone also supports Wi-Fi connectivity and 3G speed support reaches a maximum of 7.2 MBps. And of course, call quality of the phone is excellent and the reception, as expected, always has full bars in the main areas. Apart from the things mentioned, Sony Ericsson W995 Red has GPRS, EDGE, and Bluetooth Connectivity with A2DP for stereo headset.
With all the facts mentioned, it definitely proves that the pros outweigh the cons. Here is the proof.
